Check Out Snowplows In Action This Morning in Western Colorado
Check out the snowplow drivers hard at work in Western Colorado. They're everywhere! Here's a big shout out to all the awesome people keeping us safe on the roads.
Growing up on Little Park Road in Grand Junction, we depended on snow plows all winter. Driving down the "big hill" can be a challenge with fresh snow on the ground. I live closer to town now, but even at that, I heard the snowplow go past my house about 7:00 this morning.
Check out this very cool snowplow tracker courtesy of CDOT. The picture on this post was snapped at 11:00 this morning, Friday, December 18, 2020. Did you know Colorado had this many plows.? By my count, I see 27 plows on the road just between Montrose and Rifle.
Are you planning on traveling in the immediate future? Imagine how handy this could be. Years ago I spent hours on a frontage road just outside of Edwards, wondering when I could get back on I-70. Roads were open, but I was hauling a trailer and had no desire to push my luck. I sat there and watched the Interstate, waiting for the plows to go by. Had I known about this site, I would have simply looked up the nearest snow play, estimated how long before they came by, and gone and had a cup of coffee and fueled my truck.
This is valuable information. My recommendation would be to keep this snowplow tracker link handy.
Here's a huge "Thank You" to all the snowplow drivers. Here's another "Thank You" to CDOT for offering this awesome link.
