Can I Ask A Girl For Her Number In Church?

Yesterday we got some great feedback on a listeners Question of the Day, which prompted another listener to ask us for advice today!

He says, 'What’s up! My name is Mike and I’d like to ask for you opinion on something. I went to church with my mom the other day and while I was there I saw this gorgeous girl who according to my mom is there every week at the same mass we went to. So I went back the last two weeks and she was there looking better then ever. Now I haven’t made any real contact with her just a few smiles and hi and bye’s in church but want to approach her. My question is, can I ask a girl for her number in church or is that totally inappropriate?'

I think as long as he doesn't use some cheesy line about being a gift from God or an answer to her prayers he'd be fine to ask her out in Church, but I'd maybe wait till after the service when everyone's saying their goodbyes outside. What do you think? Should he go for it or is that bad etiquette?
