I think I've had it. One can't even log on to social media any more without a story of someone abusing an animal. Today's disgrace involves a grandpa who is either too oblivious or too drunk, or both, to realize or care what is going on. This involves a little boy whom I have no compassion for, and a little puppy that I have nothing but compassion for. This is a rant, so don't say I didn't warn you.

Personally, I think the kid sucks. The people in the interview are concerned about the child. I have semi-reliable memories of being four years old, and I certainly don't remember abusing animals.

As a matter of fact, I can't think of a single one of my little four-year-old buddies that ever conducted themselves in this way.

Somehow, I feel confident we'll be seeing this young man again in our news feed. We'll probably be seeing him in our courts and prisons as well.

The grandpa? Hopeless. Behold ladies and gentlemen, a walking, talking, and probably falling down slobbering, example of what we've become.

At the heart of the matter, the only member of these characters I give a damn about, the little puppy.

You can define a society by the way they treat animals. Ghandi said it, and I'm here to back him up.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." - Mahatma Gahdhi

My formula to resolve this problem once and for all:

Participant                            Role                                           Solution

  • Grandpa                  Worthless Piece of Crap                    Put to sleep
  • Little Boy                 Not innocent like some think              Mental Health Care
  • Puppy                      Innocent Victim                                 Provided with loving home

Who is the person that would gladly carry out all three solutions..... ME!
