No one internally at DC or Warner Bros. actually calls their movie universe ‘the DCEU.’

‘IT: Chapter Two’ will hit theaters in a little less than two years, on September 6, 2019.

Ron Howard has been keeping us somewhat up to date on his process shooting the untitled Han Solo prequel spinoff. He posts new tweets almost daily showing off the most behind-the-scenes stuff he can get away with, and today was no different: Howard posted a video from the set showing a pile of junk that looks like pieces of a crashed vehicle. Maybe one of the ships that didn’t make the Kessel Run?

Peter Sallis, best known for his roles in British sitcom Last of the Summer Wine and voicing the inventor Wallace in Wallace & Gromit has passed away at 96.

It’s gotta be tough for actors and directors when folks don’t like their movie, especially when a lot of those folks are the critics driving the scores on review aggregation websites before the movie has a chance to hit theaters. Baywatch has officially been out since Wednesday, and the critical reception has been… less than great. Some regular non-critics seem to dig the film, which The Rock was quick to pick up on.

With viral marketing nearing its peak, it’s become increasingly vital for movies to get a little creative with their campaigns. The upcoming Kong: Skull Island, which hits theaters in a week, has been tossing out cryptic clues and hints about the movie and the so-called MONARCH organization behind the expedition to find the giant ape. Now, you can do some ape-hunting yourself from the comfort of your own home, as Skull Island has been officially added to Google Maps.

Disney has really put their marketing for the upcoming Beauty and the Beast on steroids lately, giving us all-too-short glimpses of some really iconic scenes. First it was Josh Gad and Luke Evans in a few seconds of (the best song) “Gaston” on Good Morning America. Now it’s almost a full minute(!) of the opening number “Belle,” that serves as a great introduction to our heroine and an opportunity for everyone else in the town to air their grievances about her.

When it comes to online movie polls, which ones do you think the public is usually most excited for: little indie pictures or huge superhero/sci-fi/fantasy blockbusters? Spoiler alert— it’s the blockbusters. Shocking, I know. In Fandango’s year-end poll of the most anticipated movies of 2017, Star Wars: Episode VIII, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the live-action Beauty and the Beast took the top spots.

John Williams, probably the most recognizable name of modern Hollywood film scores, has given us the iconic soundtracks to little indie pictures such as Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Indiana Jones, E.T., and, of course, Star Wars. The music is at once timeless and nostalgic, allowing us all to sink cozily back into the days when Amblin ruled our childhoods as we listen through each score over and over. All of us, that is, except John Williams.
