Have you heard the internet rumor that when you flush the toilet, poo particles become airborne and land on your toothbrush?

Many people believe that it can even cause you to become very sick!

The theory is that microscopic poo particles "detach" from your deposit and then float in the air, landing on different surfaces in the surrounding area.

The fact is, according to Ezine @rticles expert author Tofer Tang, feces isn't that big of a health concern because it's primarily made up of water, 75 percent to be exact. The rest is built of fiber and bacteria. The only harmful of these being the bacteria of course.

The rest of the article goes on to explain that fecal bacteria is not a health risk, but there is a risk from other bacterias that can attach to it after it's left your body like Hepatitis A or dysentery.

To put this rumor to rest, once and for all, a group of scientists performed a study to find out if poo particles really land on your toothbrush (I think Myth-busters even did a show on it). The results? Wait for it. They DO! And what's worse they even found them in toothbrushes a few rooms away!

And this whole time I thought I was safe because I keep my toothbrush in the medicine cabinet, when they are poo particles EVERYWHERE! Including the air you breath. . .
