Another Restaurant in Glenwood Springs Has Closed For Good
Another restaurant in Glenwood Springs has sadly closed for good. We saw Fiesta Guadalajara close for good in Glenwood Springs just last month and now another bites the dust.
After 27 years of business, Rivers Restaurant in Glenwood Springs has closed for good. No more all you can eat Fish & Chips, Philly Cheesesteak Omelets, or Prime Rib. The Western Colorado restaurant has permanently closed their doors as of Wednesday, June 2. Rivers Restaurant thanked the community and their loyal customers for all of their support over the years.
According to the Post Independent, the property has been on sale for the last two years. River Restaurant had one of the biggest decks in Glenwood Springs and offers outstanding views of the Roaring Fork River.
This location was home to restaurants for a long, long time. Rivers Restaurant was at this location, 2525 S. Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs, since 1994 and before that, it was a different restaurant called Penelopes, according to the Post Independent.
We know that Fiesta Guadalajara in Glenwood Springs was forced to close due to a lack of employees and it seems like the owner of Rivers Restaurant was trying to sell for a while. According to the Post Independent, the owner wanted to keep it as a restaurant and sell intact with staff. We're not sure what will take Rivers Restaurant's place, but we hope it's something that maximizes that amazing view.
Rivers Restaurant posted this farewell on their Facebook, stating how they'll miss treasuring special moments with the community:
