An airborne trailer hitch was too close for comfort after it crashed through a driving family's windshield.

Trisen Ramos went to social media after the incident claiming that "everything happens for a reason".

The reason she believes this? Ramos normally places her child in the middle seat of their car, but Thursday she decided to switch and place her daughter on the passenger's side.

Their cars windshield was hit on I-25 in Colorado Springs near Fillmore Street at approximately 1 p.m.

"The one time I put Avery’s car seat on the side by the door and not the middle a trailer hitch comes back and smashes our car," Tristen wrote on Facebook.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Ramos is working with the Colorado Springs Police Department. She hopes to get information about white Ford F-250 that lost its trailer hitch.
