A Denver man fell some 50-100 feet in Boulder on Thursday while paragliding, as reported by The Denver Channel.

He was near Wonderland Hill, which is frequented by paragliding enthusiasts. Onlookers said that his right wing collapsed, sending him straight into the ground.

There was a nurse in the area who stayed with the man until Boulder Mountain Fire personnel arrived. Volunteers from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group then carried him to an ambulance.

Luckily, the man was wearing a helmet, which is believed to have saved his life.
