A Colorado Lake Has Been Shut Down Due to an Active Bear
If you've been thinking a great day-hike near this lake near Nederland, you may want to put those plans on hold, as there's a bear up there.
According to CBS4, there's been an active bear near Lost Lake since 2017. The bear has been going into unoccupied tents, taking people's unsecured food (you should always secure your food) and shows little fear of humans.
Colorado Department of Wildlife (CPW) shut the area around Lost Lake down on July 8, 2020, to all users until further notice.
CPW told CBS4 that the department rarely takes this step, but it's become serious enough that the action had to be taken.
