9 Year Old Grand Junction Girl Poisoned, Beagley Arraigned

A 9-year-old girl's death in November was caused by poisoning, according to the Mesa County Coroner.

Jeffrey Beagley, 34 was arrested on December 13 and was in Mesa County Court on Tuesday and will be facing felony charges of child abuse resulting in death, as well as reckless manslaughter and seven counts of sexual exploitation on a child.

On November 9, emergency services received a call about an unresponsive child in the 1000 block of Hill Ave in Grand Junction. Once they arrived on the scene emergency services found the young girl not breathing and unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court records, the abuse at the hands of Beagley allegedly began sometime in mid-June.

No further information is being given out at this time, including the type of poison used in order to protect the investigation currently underway.

Beagley is being held without bond.
