I just received a Public Service Announcement yesterday inviting me to a fundraiser selling memorabilia for a great cause, but I had to laugh a little when I found out what they're selling . . .

Just in case you haven't heard the ads Taste of Heaven Catering is operating out of the old Furr's Cafeteria location here in Grand Junction & this Friday the are hosting an open house/memorabilia sale to benefit Hilltop's Latimer House for those affected by domestic violence.

During the open house they will be selling 300 of the original trays used in the operation of Furr’s Cafeteria for $10 each!

Now if you're like me and saying to yourself, "What the heck can I do with a Furr's tray so I can support this great cause?"

Wonder no more!

Here's a list of 5 things you can create with these commemorative trays!

  1. Catch oil drips from your truck in the driveway
  2. Mud catch for boots
  3. Have a local artists paint cool scenes on them
  4. Place pet food and water on them to catch crumbs & spills
  5. and my favorite a sled for old Powderhorn!

What would you do with a food tray from Furr's? Best suggestion wins a $10 visa gift card so you can get your own!
