35th Annual Colorado West Marching Band Festival This Saturday (10/6)

Grab your family and head downtown this Saturday to strike up the band!

School District 51 wants to remind you the Colorado West Marching Invitational is this weekend on Main Street in Grand Junction.

14 bands will be coming from all across Colorado to perform Saturday morning in a parade competition and 13 of those will also perform their field routines in a competition at Stocker Stadium in the afternoon.

The parade is scheduled to start at 10a and the field events should start around 12:30p. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.

Bands performing in the field show use this time to prep for the State Qualifying event October 18th. This competition is an excellent way for young musicians to be critiqued and learn from the judges’ comments. It also helps them prepare for the regional & state competitions.

The day concludes with a special presentation by Colorado Mesa University’s drum line at 4 p.m. to with the awards ceremony at approximately 4:15p
