ASAP science reveals if you've been drinking coffee in the early morning, you've been doing it all wrong.

It's Riley here and if you are like me, and can barely open your eyes in the morning without drinking a cup of coffee, pay attention.

Asap talks about the hormone cortisol, which wakes you up in the morning. Drinking caffeine can interfere with the body's production of cortisol and actually makes your body produce LESS of it. This is when you become reliant on coffee to wake you up, as your body compensates for the loss of cortisol.

The best time to drink that cup-a-joe?  Or if you are like me, that fancy coffee shop latte or macchiato, is between 10 a.m. and noon and between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Give it a shot! Try that cup of coffee just a little later in the morning. My new schedule at the radio station is earlier mornings for me, but I am going to attempt waiting until after our show to drink coffee. Bear with me! And poor Keyes who has to stick around with me during the process.
