Here is how we'll want to layout our fall color drive posts this year utilizing the list-gallery style. In the first couple of paragraphs, we'll want to have this information building up to the gallery.

Info to include in the paragraphs:

  • The name of the route or pass
  • Closest towns
  • What they'll expect to see - big aspen groves, old towns, mines, etc.
  • Rate the difficulty to get there - objective

In the gallery, we'll want the following photos with information:

  • The color peak map -- you can get this from here:
  • A map of the route
  • What type of drive it is - straight highways, twisty mountain roads, dirt surface, 4x4 only -- use Google Maps/Street View to show the road
  • Must see locations -- can use Google Maps or Google Street View
  • Things to look - animals, views, etc.

Tips: Don't forget to use Getty Images to find photos. They may not be exactly what you're looking for, but they may work regardless. Ask your audience to share their photos with you from this or past years. There are some photos here - https://www.colorado.com/media-room-photo-gallery - you'll want to submit the individual photo for use.
