Nearly three dozen country singers were asked to pick the 2017 CMA Awards Entertainer of the Year winner, and the result was decisive. This year the Entertainer of the Year will go to ...

Garth Brooks.

The legend and Hall of Famer led the way with nearly 30 percent of the tally. No, it's not an overwhelming difference between first and second place (Luke Bryan scored 24 percent), but it's enough for us to predict Brooks will win a second-straight Entertainer of the Year.

Third place went to Eric Church, followed by Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban, the artist ToC officially predicts to win in 2017. The anonymous, one-question survey was presented to artists during the CMA Awards radio row remotes in the days leading up to the show. Amon those polled were Thomas Rhett, Lady Antebellum, Midland, Old Dominion, Lauren Alaina and more. We did not ask nominees Brooks or Bryan to participate, as that may have been advantageous to them, since Church, Stapleton and Urban could not participate.

The 2017 CMA Awards air on ABC at 8PM on Wednesday (Nov. 8), with Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood set to host for a tenth straight year. Reba McEntire will reveal the EotY winner at the end of the show. Urban and Miranda Lambert lead all nominees this year with the most nods, but as always the performances are what fans will be talking about after. A massive show opening number is expected to be a highlight, with many anticipating it will be in response to the Route 91 shootings in Las Vegas.
