After 4 weeks of battling, 25 competitors, 3 judges and one of the biggest crowds we've ever seen for the Country Spotlight, we have ourselves a winner. Our champion of the 2013 Country Spotlight is our reigning champions Lainey's May. These girls and their dad put on one hell of a performance in the Finals.Their first tune was one most of us hadn't heard before from Kacey Musgraves. Notice the tamberine on his foot while he is playing the guitar and the harmonica.

Our judges felt that out of all the competitors that Lainey's May was the more marketable group, had better stage presence and were overall the most well polished performer in the competition. The judges also mentioned that this was one of the toughest years they've had in judging. Their were so many good acts, it's always hard to choose just one.

Lainey's May performed their second tune originally performed by The Band Perry. Here is their version of 'Done'.

Congratulations to Lainey's May who will not only be playing on the Major Mortgage Country Jam stage on June 20th, but will also be playing in the Roper Country Club Tent, receiving 10 Country Jam tickets, 3 hours of studio time at Aspen Leaf Recording Studios and will hold the bragging rights for another year.
