Parents, you need to read this:

In a suburb of Milwaukee, WI two 12-year-old girls stabbed their female classmate 19 times in the woods. The girls took turns holding and stabbing their defenseless classmate with a 5-inch blade, what would possess these pre-teens to do such a thing? It was an Internet meme called "Slenderman."

Who is Slenderman?

He is a fictional character from an Internet meme from the Creepypasta wiki. Slenderman is described as a thin, unnaturally tall man with a featureless face who wears a black suit and has tentacle like arms.

Slenderman is featured on the website Creeypasta wiki and is said to be responsible for urban legends and horror fiction. The character stalks, abducts and traumatizes his victims- who are usually children. It's also believed Slenderman can transport himself in the woods.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel obtained a copy of the arrest affidavit, which included a description of one of the girl's statements to police:

"[Suspect Anissa E. Weier] told police that Slender Man is the 'leader' of Creepypasta, and in the hierarchy of that world, one must kill to show dedication. Weier said that [fellow suspect Morgan E. Geyser] told her they should become 'proxies' of Slender Man — a paranormal figure known for his ability to create tendrils from his fingers and back — and kill their friend to prove themselves worthy of him. Weier said she was surprised by Geyser's suggestion, but also excited to prove skeptics wrong and show that Slender Man really did exist."

Moms and dads, please monitor what your children are looking it, reading and the games they are playing on the Internet.

Maybe if the parents of these girls spent more time with them and monitored the content in which they were involved in, these girls may not have been so disillusion and out of touch with reality.
