Distracted driving is any activity that could divert a person's attention away from the primary task of driving.

"Distracted Driving" refers to a situation where a driver's attention is diverted away from their primary task, namely driving. In 2011, 3,331 people were killed in crashes involving a driver who was distracted. That number is a slight increase over 2010, when 3,267 people were killed.
