Based on my own eye witness account, it seems an average of four out of five bass players performing at Major Mortgage Country Jam play on Fender Jazz basses. Why is this? What bass maker creates the ultimate 'Country' bass? Vote in our online poll.

For decades, it seemed as though the Fender Precision was the bass of choice with the Country crowd. However, recent observations suggest the Jazz has taken over the top spot. Where Country Jam players are concerned, those that don't play Fenders tend to lean towards Music Man basses. For that matter, some major country acts have been spotted playing Tobias, Carvin, Warwick, Lakland, Zon, Spector, and Modulus.

For the record, and I digress, I tend to get my panties in a bunch when the instrument is referred to as a "bass guitar." It is not a "bass" guitar, it's and electric bass. Now that I have that off my chest, let's go to the polls.
