Valentine's Day, like Halloween, is rooted in pagan partying I know seems sad because before this I actually loved celebrating Valentines Day. Maybe If I don't look at its history I can once again enjoy Valentines Day.

Valentines apparently can be traced back to Roman festivals where men stripped naked, grabbed goat- or dog-skin whips, and spanked young maidens in hopes of increasing their fertility.

Regardless of its history, I doubt if anyone much cares about how Valentines was celebrated in the past. What we want most on this day are love and romance. Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne come to mind. An overnight stay with a spa would be nice and a message. That would be nice for Valentines Day what are you doing?
