Are you looking for the perfect Christmas Tree? Did you know you  can get a great deal on a tree while supporting scouting? The Boy Scout trees are coming to Grand Junction, and they'll be here sooner than you may think.

Over 700 freshly cut trees will arrive in Grand Junction on the morning of Wednesday, November 23. Boy Scout Troop 303 will kick off their annual Scout Tree Lot sale two days later on Friday, November 25, beginning at 9 a.m.

Grand Junction's Scout Troop 303 has hosted this event for over 30 years. Historically, they've offered three varieties of trees, ranging from 4 to 12 feet high:

  • Douglas Fir
  • Grand Fir
  • Noble Fir

Want to talk about fresh? These trees are cut in Washington State only four days before arrival on the lot.

The Scouts' tree lot will be moving to a new location. This year, you'll find it in the parking lot at Sutherlands Home Improvement Center at 2405 Patterson.

Hours for the sale are:

  • Monday through Thursday - 3:30 to 7:30
  • Friday - Noon to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday - 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The tree lot serves as the only fundraiser for the Scout program, helping to fund summer camps and other activities. According to Scoutmaster Bruce Kronkright, "Every scout will contribute nearly 30 hours of work over the next two weeks to make this year's Tree Lot a success - it's a real team effort."
