Several Western Colorado area musicians gathered at St. Joseph's Church in Grand Junction to record a musical farewell for a local priest leaving the valley to take sabbatical in Rome.

Javier De Los Santos, and various members of his group, Mariachi San Jose, gathered at St. Joseph's on Tuesday night, December 22, to do a recording session as a musical sendoff for Father Edmundo.

Edmundo left the valley yesterday (December 27) to spend time in Rome. Javier gathered the members of the group, along with Father Edmundo, and recording engineer Gary R. Smith, to record some of the groups most requested arrangements.

Featured in the recording are Father Edmundo - vocals, Javier De Los Santos - guitar, Ron Bradley - Trumpet, Sandra Rivera - violin, and yours truly on guitarron.

During the live recording session, the group laid down roughly a dozen tracks, ranging from "Ave Maria" to Freddy Fender's "Before The Next Teardrop Falls."
