Are the kids hanging around the house with nothing to do? Would you like to get them out? Three Western Colorado bowling alleys are participating in the "Kids Bowl Free" program all summer long.

When was the last time you heard the word "free"? Not lately, I would bet. In this case, though, the word applies. Three Western Colorado bowling alleys are making their facilities available for kids to enjoy free bowling.

Participating locations include:

For your convenience, the alleys listed above include the link to the registration page. Please keep in mind, there are a few variations on this offer depending on the bowling alley.

Orchard Mesa Lanes offers one free game of bowling per day. I called to discuss the specifics regarding age limits and was informed the offer was good for all "school age" children. In my case, I was in school until I was 31. I wonder if that applies. Whereas your children and their ages are concerned, you'll have to call and verify.

Freeway Bowl in Grand Junction offers two free games per day to kids age 15 and under. The free program does not cover the cost of rental shoes. Those you'll have to pay for.

I called and spoke with Rose Bowl in Montrose. They offer two free games per day to children 15 and under.

This appears to be a very generous, and appealing, opportunity. Bowling is fun. Getting the kids out of the house if fun. Free is fun, too. Now you know how to keep the kids busy over the summer break. Give them a lawn mower, a broom, and then sign them up for the "Kids Bowl Free" program.
