Police are searching for a man who broke into a locked jewelry case at a downtown Grand Junction store and stole valuable gold and diamond rings.

A Crime Stoppers of Mesa County report says the theft took place at Cooley Designs located inside A Robin's Nest of Antiques at 602 Main Street on Sunday, September 30.

Security camera footage shows the suspect using an unidentified tool to open a locked jewelry case and remove two gold rings. One of the rings had a diamond mounted in it. The two rings are valued at over $3,700.

At the time of the theft, the suspect was wearing a green t-shirt, blue jeans, and sunglasses on top of his head.

The suspect left the store and was last seen on Main Street with a younger male who was also in the store during the theft.
