The Gear Up Festival makes its way to Fruita this weekend, featuring everything from "Slackline" demos, Bluegrass music, beer gardens, and great films. Set aside a few hours to check out this amazing festival. Here are five reasons you dare not miss this event.

The Gear Up Festival gets underway Friday evening at 5:30 with the Happy Hour event. Officially, things commence Saturday morning at 10:00 when the festival opens to the public. Shortly afterwards, check out the fly casting demo at 10:30.

    Check out the Telluride Mountain Films presented by Powderhorn Mountain Resort, showing at the Fruita Community Center. Tickets are $10 advance, $12 at the door. Tickets available at www.raceroster.com.

    Used Gear Sale

    Drop off - Saturday between 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

    The CMU Outdoor Program is managing the used gear sale. Drop off your used gear at the CMU Outdoor Program tent located at Mulberry St and Aspen Ave on Saturday, April 23, between 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Set your own price, they'll manage the sale and retain 20% of the sale for the CMU Outdoor Program.
