Another year. Another Grand Mesa legend returns. This is the bear and the swan.

With the fresh new snowfall up on the Mesa, it brought the Grand Mesa "snow animals" out of hibernation. For a little while at least.

This may not be well known outside of the Grand Valley. In fact, a couple of Google searches actually pulled up The Bear and Swan restaurant and bar in Chew Magna, England.

But here, it's a long-standing tradition. It means the unofficial beginning of another winter.

Of course, that doesn't mean there isn't a bit controversy and debate about what is actually up there. Or rather, what people claim to see. I see the bear and swan and can totally accept woolly mammoth or even a rhinoceros. Others claim they see a hawk and/or a turkey.

I guess it depends on your perspective.

What do you see?
