The controversial comedy 'The Interview' has made it's way to the big screen in Grand Junction at the Avalon Theatre this weekend.

The film, originally scheduled for general release, was pulled after Sony Pictures received threats from hackers. The movie was released to selected theaters on Christmas Day, but it wasn't until this weekend people in western Colorado are able to see the film in a theater.

'The Interview' starring James Franco (Dave Skylark) and Seth Rogen (Aaron Rapoport) centers around the celebrity tabloid TV show 'Skylark Tonight' and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un's affinity for the program. When the two land an interview with the dictator, the CIA recruits them to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

The Avalon Theatre plans several showings of the movie through Thursday (January 8). 'The Interview' rated R (for pervasive language, crude and sexual humor, nudity, some drug use and bloody violence).
