Five people were killed in a helicopter crash in New York's East River on Sunday night, according to CNN. The pilot of the helicopter was reported as the sole survivor.

A train crashed into a Hoboken, N.J. station Thursday morning, causing more than 100 injuries and an unconfirmed number of deaths.

Two adjacent apartment buildings in Manhattan collapsed after a gas explosion Wednesday morning. Two women were killed in the blast, which also injured at least 16 people and left many more missing.
