Mt. Garfield

After a long, and hopefully very happy life of 30 years, Western Colorado's famous, and much-loved "Sweetheart" has passed away. You'll find this tribute at the trailhead of Palisade's Mt. Garfield.

We're searching for anyone who might have photos of Grand Junction's old Viking Ship that was beached briefly near Mount Garfield.

This was spotted last Thursday from the summit of Western Colorado's Mt. Garfield. What does it mean?

The world is in chaos with riots, protests, COVID-19, financial crisis, and political unrest. On a high note, though, the Flag at the top of Mt. Garfield is flying high and looking great.

Right here, right now, Western Colorado has its hands full. Fires are burning out of control, the pandemic continues, and times are uncertain. We do, however, have this watching over us.

For only the third time in a decade, I spotted a couple of wild horses while hiking up Mt. Garfield. While not necessarily Earth shattering, this was the perfect degree of awesomeness at just the right moment.
