The good news. Grand Junction and Montrose residents are less of a risk to lenders as credit scores in the area are on the rise.  The bad news. So is the amount of debt.

Here's a word of advice. Never, ever lose your credit cards in Grand Junction. They may end up going on a spending spree without you.

The Mesa County sheriff's Office is attempting to identify and locate the people involved in the theft and fraudulent use of credit cards.

An elderly lady didn't have a way to pay for her items at a Grand Junction store. The reason? A woman stole her wallet.

Most of us wouldn't even consider using a credit card that didn't belong to us. Sadly, these people aren't like us.

An unbelievably dishonest woman found a someone's wallet and instead of trying to locate the owner or turn the wallet over to authorities, used the Visa card inside to purchase items at multiple stores.

Approximately 40 million credit and debit card accounts used by Target customers may have been impacted by a major data breach, the retailer said Thursday. Customer names along with credit and debit card numbers may have been accessed, as well as the expiration date and three-digit security code on the back of each card, the store said.

Recent reports indicate that the majority of the time when your credit card company calls you to inquire about potentially fraudulent activity on your account, it is not an attempt to sell you additional products and services. Rather, it is a real security warning. and going forward you might want to start answering those calls.

Walmart plans to unleash a new no-fee prepaid debit card by American Express later this week called Bluebird that will be offered nationwide at some 4,000 Walmart stores and through the Bluebird website.
