High winds blowing through the Grand Junction area Tuesday afternoon (June 17) created a number of problems across the Grand Valley including a downed power line that silenced our signal for over two hours.

This video, provided by KEKB's chief engineer Mike Shafer, shows the broken power line swinging loose from the pole and transformer it was attached to.

It's estimated the winds were blowing 60-70 miles per hour when this video was taken.

A Grand Valley Power crew was dispatched to repair the broken line and power was restored at approximately 7:10 p.m.

Even though all you could hear was silence, the party was still happening during our, not so "live" broadcast at Blue Moose where we gave away passes to Country Jam and filled their new restaurant with our listeners!
