Violinist Sandra Rivera will once again receive the Robert "Bob" Grand Memorial Scholarship to Colorado Mesa University. Rivera has chosen to continue her education at CMU and pursue an additional degree in Music Education.

Rivera can be spotted performing throughout Western Colorado with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Mesa University Chamber Orchestra, Javier De Los Santos Mariachi San Jose, as well as numerous other ensembles.

The Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship is an award exclusive to the Colorado Mesa University music department. With Rivera concluding her studies at CMU at the end of the Spring 2014 semester, the award will be available to a new recipient.

The award was created in memory of Daily Sentinel photographer, and life long resident of the Grand Valley, Robert Grant. Rivera is the second student to receive the award during its seven year history.
