Road trips are fun, but road trips on the Western Slope offer much more!

Well, here is the best thing about road tripping on the Western Slope:

Everything is so close you can drive one direction and ride the next, that way you don't miss out!

So let's take a look at a few up and back trips everyone can enjoy!

Highways 141 and 145 contain a lot of scenery and a few historical places for you to check out as well, like the Driggs Mansion, the Hanging Flume and more. It's 133 miles, and about 2 1/2 hours of some beautiful scenic areas and a bit of history.

One of the most beautiful drives I have ever been on, whether driving or riding. There is so much to see along its over 60 miles. Rising over 6,000 feet, you travel through four major ecological zones. Known as the largest flattop mountain in the world, the Grand Mesa has been delighting travelers for decades. You can hike, bike, camp, fish, ski and a lot more. There is nothing like it.

Along the 486 miles that dip into eastern Utah, you will find fossil sites, trails and museums you may not have known even existed. Dinosaur footprints and fossils have been found throughout the area. This is one drive you will want to take more than once, that's for sure.

Gas up, load up the family and head out for some fun times, great rides and more interesting information and sites than you thought possible. The fun is endless!
