Residents OF Basalt And El Jebel Return Home

Firefighters are making progress on the Lake Christine fire and some residents are able to return home to Basalt and El Jebel. Re-entry tags were given out at the Basalt High school.

I can remember when I lived in Washington state and had to evacuate I had my mom three dogs and three cats. Luckily we had family members that we could go to and wait it out but it wasn't easy not only did we have live pets but all the memories and figuring out what we wanted to save just in case a fire destroyed our home.

If you are one of the residents and not sure if your neighborhood is allowing re-entry you can contact your local officials for more information.

Only residents will be able to gain access and you will need either a valid driver's license, proof of residencies like your vehicle registration or a utility bill or a re-entry tag to get past the checkpoints. Residents should remain on alert with bags packed as conditions could change.
