A real estate scam has been reported in Grand Junction regarding a house at 2908 1/2 Walnut.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, a man reported that the house was being advertised  for rent at cheaper prices than comparable homes in the market. The phone number he called was 248-491-3826. The party reportedly told him to complete a contract on Google. The man contacted Google, which said it was a scam.

The man found the listing from the website realtor.com. The listing is still active on this website, and the number has since changed: (614) 835-6702. The man claiming to be the landlord of the property is named Williams Lindah Alexander. Here's the contract he wanted the man to sign on Google.

The GJPD reminds residents to keep in mind that if something sounds too good to be true, it is. They also advise to be aware of geographical distance. If the party you are dealing with is in another city or country, it's quite likely a scam. Never sign a lease agreement over the internet and avoid unusual forms of payment.
