They are perennial hit-song makers. Texas Troubadours, critics and fans all just love 'em. Randy Rogers Band is Texas Music, and this week they announced their upcoming album "Nothing Shines Like Neon," will be a "traditional country album."

And, hey, after Randy and Wade Bowen shocked the country world this year with "Hold My Beer: Vol. 1," which was just that, there is no reason to doubt it.

The duets album Rogers and Bowen released in the spring was one of the best of 2015. Rolling Stone named it to its "Best Albums of 2015 That You Might Not Have Heard Yet" list. It may be its success, or it may be this is where Randy is right now in his career, but either way we are excited for it.

Right from the start, the band firmly drives their stake in the ground, opening the album with the fiddle driven, Texas shuffle “San Antone.”  The album delivers one classic country song after another complete with heart on the sleeve lyrics, powerful smoky vocals, blazing fiddles and guitars.   Stand outs on the album include the beautiful, instant classic “Look Out Yonder,” a duet with Alison Krauss and a pair of aching ‘wish I could get over you’ tunes “Things I Need To Quit” and “Tequila Eyes” written from each side of the coin.  As fans expect from the Randy Rogers Band, the album delivers a dose of hell-raising including a duet with Jamey Johnson “Acting Crazy” and the devil may care “Taking It As It Comes” featuring Jerry Jeff Walker.

"Nothing Shines Like Neon" will be out January 15th, 2016.
