You have heard that the city of Grand Junction wants to add a Community Events Center just south of the Two Rivers Convention Center. How will they complete the project, and what will it mean for our community? Find out at a series of open public forums happening over the next few weeks.

Grand Junction is a great place for events. We have Country Jam, the Pork and Hops Challenge and other events going on every weekend in Grand Junction. All of these events are outside, so we need nice weather to hold them. But what about the colder months?

That is where we are lacking. The Grand Junction events center would be a big part of holding concerts and events in the winter. Many people have questions about spending money for something that might just cost more of our tax dollars.

There are six public information forums scheduled to help answer all of your concerns. The meetings will take place at the Factory, a place that the Mesa County Libraries has for the public that might need office and meeting space, located at 750 Main Street.

The meetings are scheduled for the following dates and times:

January 23, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
January 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
January 30, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
February 1, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
February 6, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
February 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

If you are for or against this project, or not quite sure yet, these informational meeting will help you. You can find out more details about the Grand Junction Events Center online.
