A man found at a trailer park in Grand Junction Monday afternoon (December 5) was reportedly dead before police arrived at the scene.

The Grand Junction Police Department has identified the deceased man as 20-year-old Caleb "Clifford" Fettig and his death is being treated as a homicide. The Mesa County Coroner has determined Fettig died from multiple stab wounds.

Police are actively investigating the circumstances of Fettig's death and are attempting to identify a suspect. GJPD requests that anyone with information contact them at 242-6707. Anonymous tips can also be made through Crime Stoppers of Mesa County 241-7867.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, 911 dispatch received a call at approximately 3 p.m. from a person who found a man outside at a trailer park in the vicinity of 2837 North Avenue. The caller reported the victim was unresponsive and thought to be dead.

Emergency medical personnel and Grand Junction Police Officers determined the man had died before they arrived at the scene, but were unable to immediately determine the cause of death or how long the victim had been dead.

Police are in the process of confirming the identity of the victim and investigating the cause of death and plan to release more information as it becomes available.
