Colorado Families for a Fair Wage sent in a petition with 200,000 signatures in their campaign effort to raise Colorado's minimum wage. The signatures will now be verified by the Secretary of State's Office.

The goal would be to increase wages over a four-year span, resulting in $12/hour by 2020. Colorado's minimum wage is currently $8.31.This campaign will most likely turn into a voting opportunity in the November ballot.

Patty Kupfer, the campaign manager of Colorado Families for a Fair Wage, said wages have not kept up with the cost of living and there are people working full time that are living in poverty. Opposing views say it would hurt small businesses on the Western Slope.

What are your thoughts on this petition that is likely to be voted on in November?
