The annual 'Howl-o-ween' Pet Costume contests are happening on October 29, 2016, to benefit two Western Slope Animal Shelters.

Chow Down Pet Supply on the Redlands will be hosting the event and your pet could win a $250 gift card from Chow Down Pet Supply.

Chow Down will also be hosting a separate 'Howl-o-ween' pet costume contest at their store in Montrose to benefit the Second Chance Humane Society.

The cost to enter the contest is just $10. You can pre-register your animal for the Grand Junction contest at either the Fruita or Grand Junction location. Registration the day of the event will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Grand Junction store, 2500 Broadway Unit H in the Alberson's Plaza. The costume judging starts at 2:00 p.m. The Montrose 'Howl-o-ween' will take place at 202 East Main Street.

First place gets your pet a $250 shopping spree at Chow Down, second place will receive $100 to spend and third place wins a $50 gift card. All proceeds from the Grand Junction event will benefit the Roice-Hurst Animal Shelter as they work to find homes for all of the animals at the shelter. Proceeds from the event in Montrose will help the Second Chance Animal Shelter. There will also be adoptable dogs at the Grand Junction event from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. if you are looking for a new furry member of your family.
