The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is trying to find a person who was in a Clifton store just before a shooting occurred on Wednesday (May 25) in hopes that person can help them learn more about what happened.

The shooting occurred at the Corner Store located at 3202 E Road. Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the store at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The victim in the shooting has only been identified as a 57-year-old-man who was taken to the hospital for treatment and is listed in critical condition.

The person the Sheriff's Office is looking for may have important information about the shooting since he was in the store shortly before the shooting happened.
