A threat against Montrose High School made on social media has resulted in the arrest of a student.

According to the Montrose Police Department, the threat was made on Sunday (March 11) by a person on Facebook Messenger. That threat was not directed at any specific person and appeared to be targeted to the High School in general.

Police determined the person who made the threat was a student at Montrose High School. That person has been arrested and charged with Interference With School Facilities.

Following the arrest, authorities determined there was no threat to the high school. The Montrose Police Department said they treat all reports of threats seriously and ask that the community continue to notify them of all threats, including those on social media.
