By most standards, Palisade is a small town, yet this tiny western Colorado municipality is bigger in population than eight entire Colorado counties.

Palisade boasts a population of around 2,700 people - but eight of Colorado's 64 counties have entire populations that are less than that. If you want to get away from people, these are the places to go, and they are scattered throughout the state.
