Beginning today (October 1), a new stamp will mark edible marijuana products and its packaging.

The state of Colorado has now made sure that you can clearly see the difference in edible products that contain marijuana and those which do not.

After complaints have been made, that some of the edible packagings is almost identical to its non-marijuana counterparts, Colorado has decided to create a special stamp or marking to distinguish between the two.

Now, any edible marijuana product must contain this new diamond-shaped stamp along with the letters T-H-C. This rule even goes for the products themselves, not just the packaging.

Along with the stamp, there will also be other packaging and labeling stipulations. Childproof lids and zippers and warnings stating these products to be kept away from children and not to be consumed while driving, pregnant or nursing. Finally, beginning in 2017, all edible products will be banned from taking the shape of any fruit, animal or human, as it can be appealing to children.

For good or bad, Colorado is the first of the marijuana legal states to put this type of identifier on its products.
