Telluride Mountainfilm offers an amazingly unique variety of short films and the 2016 tour makes a stop in Montrose to support two community organizations.

The Montrose event on November 11 is an opportunity to see some great films and help support Community Options and Uncompahgre Valley Association.

Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour 2016 showcases short films with many different themes from adventure to world cultures. There are several short films in this year's tour including, 'The Super Salmon,' 'Canyon Song,' and 'When We Were Knights.'

The event is a fundraiser for Community Options which supports hundreds of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities by providing vocational assistance and support both at home and in residential facilities.

The other beneficiary, Uncompahgre Valley Association, is a volunteer advocate group whose mission is to preserve the quality of life and the environment in Western Colorado.

Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour 2016 is November 11 at the Montrose Pavilion. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with films starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.

There is also a showing November 12 in Grand Junction at the Avalon Theater. Advance tickets are $10 or $15 at the door. Children 10 and under are free.
