Usually, you have to check-in to a hotel before you can check-out. Two men decided to skip the first part and check out of a Montrose hotel with the businesses cash.

Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers and the Montrose Police Department are now looking for the two whose version of checking-out is defined as robbery.

According to the report, in the early morning of December 23, 2016, two men entered the Days Inn Hotel and stole cash from the hotel cash register and high-tailed it to their hideout.

A witness only got a glance at the robbers before they left but was able to provide a general description of the two.

The first suspect was wearing a long-sleeved gray shirt and dark pants. He was also wearing a black stocking cap and a bandana to cover his head and face.

The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and a tan or white cap mostly covered by the sweatshirt hood. His face was also covered.

Both suspects appeared to have socks covering their hands and were thought to be shoeless at the time of the robbery.

If you have information about this robbery or can identify the suspects, make an anonymous report by calling Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers at 970-249-8500 or using the P3 Tips app. If the information leads to an arrest, the person providing that information may be eligible for a cash reward.
