Mesa County is doing what it can to make sure that this November's voting is true and accurate.

The Mesa County Elections office has been busy preparing for next months election. They have been testing the equipment that will take and count up our votes. They want to make sure the results are 100 per cent accurate.

Members of their staff along with Democrats and Republicans tested out the process on Friday. First, the participants filled out one of the new 'test decks.' Afterward, they counted it by hand and then had it counted by the new equipment. The results showed that the test was a complete success.

How it works is that your vote selections will be taken on a tablet. Then that tablet prints out each ballot and then put in a ballot box.

So, I guess we can rest a little easier knowing that (hopefully) our votes are being counted correctly.

Just make sure to go out and vote!
