Taste of Country caught up with country duo LoCash at the 2015 Country Jam in Colorado last week and uncovered a little secret: Preston Brust loves boy band One Direction, and he doesn’t care who knows it.

ToC’s Billy Dukes gave Brust and bandmate Chris Lucas a chance to draw a random, fan-submitted question out of a mug, which read, “What is the most embarrassing band on your iPod?"

Brust knew immediately, without hesitation, what his go-to answer was. While Lucas deliberated, Brust confessed his guilty pleasure.

“It might be embarrassing to everyone else, but I actually love the music,” he admitted with a smile. “One Direction.”

After a less-than-impressive fan reaction, Brust defended his choice.

“I love ‘Night Changes!’ I love that song,” he explained.

Lucas took his turn and confessed a love for the '80s hit ‘Cruel Summer’ by Bananarama, which he then performed a sample of for the audience.

The LoCash boys are Country Jam staples, having performed at the event for years. Last year the duo teased a bit from a new song, which is now their current single, “I Love This Life.” The duo took a similar approach this year.

“We're gonna do that again today; we’re gonna play ‘I Love This Life,’ but we’re gonna tease some new music,” Brust dished.

“We’ll be playing two other songs that we know are most likely are gonna be singles,” Lucas added. “Well, you never know anything in this industry, but there’s two of them we really feel strong about, called ‘Shipwrecked’ and another one called ‘I Know Somebody.’"

LoCash, formerly known as LoCash Cowboys, released "I Love This Life" in January 2015 as their first single after joining their new record label, Reviver Records, in late 2014.
