Local Music Scholarship Welcomes New Committee Member

Colorado Mesa University Assistant Professor Kristen Yeon-Ji Yun has been selected to join the committee for the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship.

The memorial scholarship is exclusive to string instrumentalists attending Colorado Mesa University. In years past, the three person committee overseeing the award consisted of Carlos Elias, Dennis Woodrich, and the late Tyme Mientka. Following Mientka's death last year, Western Slope Honor Flight president Kevin Wodlinger stepped in to join the committee. Recently, Carlos Elias, director of the Colorado Mesa University Symphony Orchestra, announced his departure from the university and the scholarship board.

Kristen Yeon-Ji Yun joins the panel effective immediately. The committee is pleased to announce that four-time recipient of the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship, violinist Sandra Rivera, has been selected to receive the award again for the Fall 2013 semester.
