Our hearts and prayers go out to those effected by Hurricane Sandy, but amid all the devastation there have been some lighthearted moments as well.

If you've not had a chance to see Lydia Calas, the sign language interpreter for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg you need to check her out!

During his public statements about the storm, Calas' provides dramatic renderings in her translations, complete with very animated facial expressions. It even inspired her own Tumblr:

Also in the wake of Sandy's punishing blows on New York City, young listeners to the city's WNYC radio station got some reassurance from Sesame Street's own Elmo! Elmo  confessed to being scared during Sandy, even though he was with his mommy and daddy, saying he had wanted to know, "Will the wind ever stop blowing?"
